Looks like a permissions issue. Are you an administrator? If not, try getting an Admin level person to run it for you and/or change your account to Admin level and/or set GW to run in administrator mode.
(Or, maybe your hard drive is too full)

This. Also, make sure that some other program isn't using your gw.dat file when you launch the exe. I'm not sure what would use that file, but some anti-virus programs like to make a file unmodifiable when it's scanning them, or so I've heard. You might want to try disabling antivirus software or anti-mal/spyware software, if you have it active.

I really wish the Guild Wars dump files were more useful. I'd love to check into the minidump if one was generated by Microsoft, though I doubt it was.

well, i turned off my antivirus and i am already set on administrator, but its still not working. and i still have about 150gigs of harddrive left on my cpu. don't know why its doing this. it was working fine a few days ago, and now i'm getting this error. thanks for the ideas but they don't work. if anyone else out there has any ideas, let me know. only have a little over a week of vacation left, and i'd like to play some more.

Look in your guild wars folder. See if you have a gw.tmp file. If you do, cut/paste it elsewhere, then try and run guild wars again.

It says you can't write to the TMP file... Try checking it to see if it is Read-Only or corrupt. Deleting it so GW can make a new on might be a good idea if all else fails.
